Rick recommends a private room in someone's home for as little as 25 euro while staying in Haarlem, Netherlands. Does anyone have any connections to recommend for this type of stay in Haarlem or any experience with this?

These modest B&Bs are common and a very good value. You can hunt for them online, follow recommendations in Rick's book (or other guidebooks), or just ask for a referral (modes fee) from the TI.

I am not quite sure what information you are looking for. "Does anyone have any connections to recommend..."
If you are asking what we might think about staying in a private home, my wife and I stay in B&Bs though out Europe every summer and love them. We have stayed in Haarlem twice, both time in places we found in RS guide books. I can not say that we ever paid as little as 25E tho. We stayed in Amsterdam once and decided we liked Haarlem better for its quaintness and quite. Happy travels
