Hi! Any suggestion as to where to stay for 2 nights in Lucerne? We are group of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) Any input can really help us. Thanks JANE
Janederm, You could try Hotel Stern, as it's in a good location with easy access to both the river and the rail station. They have triple and four-bed rooms, so should be able to accommodate your group. I'd suggest booking as early as possible, given the size of your group. Happy travels!
We stayed at the Radisson. We walked from the train station to the hotel.
We were a family of 5 and stayed in the Hotel Alpha. A 10 minute walk from the train station, but a nice walk. We had 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, connected by a hallway. Don't remember price, but it was reasonable for lucerne at the time. Nice breakfast, nice staff, wouldn't hesitate to stay there again, in fact hope we get back there someday. About a 10 minute walk to old town. All very pleasant and relaxing, and we came here straight from our 10 hr flight to Zurich, hopping on the train from the airport, to Lucerne.
I've stayed multiple time at the Hotel Tourist/Touristenhotel. Its right along the river about a 10 minute walk to the station and about a 5 minute walk to the altstadt. Its fairly reasonable for a hotel in Luzern, is immaculate, quiet and if you ask for a river view room, you get a fantastic view of Luzern, the lake and the alps.
