My wife and I are staying one night in Barcelona before a cruise and we are looking for lodging ideas. Ideally, we would like to be in the city center in a clean, quaint "Rick Steves" budget conscious hotel.
Any ideas?

We loved the Royal Ramblas.

We love the location of this hotel. It is very close to the Airport bus stop, walk out the front door and you are on the Ramblas. Our room over looked street performers on the Ramblas, but was surprisingly quiet.

We stayed at Hotel Nouvelle in the Ramblas. We would definitely stay there again.
