Is it possible to travel Colmar and Nancy and stay overnight in one of the two and then rail to Cochem Germany If the answer is yes, then what type rail pass would I buy? Are there bed and breakfasts in Nancy or Colmar?
I have two days I can spend in the area.

Yes (I'd pick Colmar). NO rail pass; buy point-to-point tickets. Yes. The train connections b/n Colmar and Cochem aren't great; go to the following website and put in your particular travel dates; the date I chose shows trains with mostly 3 and 4 connections with one exception - hope you like getting up early... Just Google 'Colmar hotels' and/or use a guidebook for a starting point. OR, use Google Maps - just zoom in really tightly until the hotels and other points of interest start showing up...
