Just wondering if I can enter on my own without the tour...avoiding the services held of course. I may be short on time and am trying to make it to the Art Museum as well and I really don't want to have to choose between the two on what may be a tight afternoon schedule
Not to sound rude at all, but which St. Stephens do you mean? There are numerous ones in Europe, especially in the former Hapsburg areas.
Do you mean St. Stephens in Vienna since you mentioned the art museum? If so, you do not need a guided tour.
Do you mean St Stephens Tower, usually called Big Ben?
Apologies here for being unclear about which St. Stephens in Europe that I was referring to and I should have made clear it was the one in Vienna. Thank you for your help and information...I really appreciate it. Dutch
Perfect! You will have a great time. The cathedral is very beautiful and easily seen on your own pace.
Be sure to tour the Catacombs. http://www.wien.info/portal/b2c/en/sightseeing/sights/catacombs-towers-st-stephan
Betty....the catacombs are definitely on my wish list if I have enough time....although I suspect my wife tried to ditch me in the ones in Rome...hmmm.... :) Thanks Betty...and to all here
