We (myself, my daughter and my grandson) are going to be flying into CDG airport on 6/16 and wanted to find some lodging around St Denis for 4 nights (through 6/19). Any suggestions? Carole
I am sorry, not clear, do you mean the St Denis the church just outside Paris,, because if you do ,, i have alot to say on subject, if not, sorry can't help you.
Check out the Ibis hotel.
Any place around St Denis - Cathedral, stadium, town - that is close to the RER or metro. We're renting a car and don't want to drive into Paris but want to go to Paris for a few days.
It doesn't make a lot of sense to pay for a car rental on days you would be visiting Paris. Not only are you paying for a car you aren't using, but you are also responsible for any damage the car may incur. St. Denis, and other northern suburbs, are not the gentlest of neighborhoods in the Paris region. The money you spend on a rental could go toward a hotel in Paris, where you would be closer to things you want to see and able to go back to your hotel during the day if necessary. Then you would have the possibility of renting your car when you are ready to leave Paris. You have many place where you could rent, not just CDG.
Rather than St. Denis, which is, how can I put it, a bit of a rough area, maybe you could locate yourself at La Defense. There are hotels there with parking available and you will be close to metro & bus lines. You really should not stay at St. Denis.
What the wimmins said. There's not much to see out there except the cathedral and the area's not that interesting to walk around except for maybe an hour or so in a very restriced area. I'm betting that the metro ride to anywhere you'd want to goin the city is at least thirty minutes with a couple of changes. There are all kinds of places closer in that have pretty economical prices.
Thanks so much for you help everyone. We got a good deal on a rental car for 2 weeks and plan to go to Park Astrix one of those days, so it would just be 2 days that we would not be using the car. Where in La Defense would be good?
