We are renting a small cottage next July in St. Cirq Lapopie. Also considering tacking on a trip down the coast of Spain and on to Barcelona. Any suggestions of places on the Spanish coast to stay would be greatly appreciated. We love the ocean. Thank you.

Cadaques, about a third of the way from Perpignan to Barcelona. It's out on a peninsula. Absolutely neat little town. Another interesting place, if you can fit it in, is Aiques-Mortes, a small walled port east of Montpellier in the Camargue. Other places to see near where you're staying: the Pech Merle cave outside Cabrerets, the national prehistory museum at Eyzies de Tayac, St Cirq, and Cahors (if you're a wine fan).

We stayed in an apartment in the village of L'Escala, Spain, we loved it. You can take day trip to Figueres, Girona, Cadaques, not too far from there is the ruins of Empuries.
