Does anyone know about spas is the French Alps? My husband and I would like to stop in Aix-les-Bains or Evian for a couple of days on on a train trip from Nice to Chamonix, ending up in Murren, Switzerland. Do you choose a hotel and then do the spa things separately at the spa? Some hotels seem to have facilities in them and I'm confused. We're interested in massage, sauna, mineral baths, etc, and don't want to pay too much.

My Cadogan guide for Rhone-Alpes says of Aix that it "is now working hard to promote more tempting pampering breaks for tourists." I would google the website for the TI office. You might find a link to the information you want; or you can e-mail them with your questions. If you have some hotel names, you could also go to their websites and see if they have spas or if they mention anything about spas. Sometimes hotels have discount arrangements with certain spas.
