Does anyone in the US have any experience booking Spanish trains (renfe), via the web. The prices are less than half of what I have been quoted other places, but with 3 different credit cards I got an error message, and was unable to complete the purchase.
The RENFE website is an embarrassing, virtually unusable, nightmare. I've tried to purchase tickets online a couple of times, but invariably end up calling the customer service line. (The joke here to describe RENFE's treatment of customers is the play on words, "Ten Fé" (Have faith).) The international number is +34 902 24 34 02 and theoretically will answer calls from 7-23h (GMT+1). Let me know if you have a problem.
