Spain weather

We will be traveling to Spain around May 1. Had anticipated driving to the Basque region as part of our trip. I know that is a wetter region. Is it apt to be unpleasntly chilly and wet at that time of year? Bob

Hi Bob. try weatherbase.com it has detailed average weather info for anywhere in the world. It shows San Sebastion May 1 average high 60F, low 48F; will have some rain almost half of the days. Enjoy your trip!

We were in San Sebastian in the second weekend of April this year. It was cold, windy and mostly miserable and wet outside. This year was worse than normal because they had an unusually cold winter and hadn't snapped out of it. Still the time of year to enjoy the Basque coast is in the height of summer. The rest of the year isn't likely to be beach weather although it probably doesn't get too much worse than when we visited.
