Spain: Tattoo shops?

Just wondering if anyone knows of any good, safe, clean tattoo shops and where the possibly speak English in either Madrid or Barcelona.

I am travelling to Spain this summer and want to get a tattoo while I am there.

Thanks for any help you can give :)

Hey, at least I actually tried to answer the question!

In the unlikely event that you will find English-speaking tattoo artists, maybe you could learn a little Spanish, enough to ask the relevant questions and understand the answers.

I'm not a fan of tattoos so I have no personal experience, and cannot speak to the cleanliness or safety of a place, but I did a simple Google search and came up with a website where they listed at least two shops in Madrid and one in Barcelona (and several other cities in Spain) where they do speak English (among other languages). There may be other sites where they list other shops, too, but the listing I saw was at http://tattoojoy.com/tattoo_shops/spain,1.html

¿Sus agujas contienen la hepatitis o cualquier enfermedad social peligrosa?

Can I get anything besides a tatoo from your needles?

Thank you for everyone's responses!

I actually took Spanish in school, however I would feel much better communicating in English just so that nothing was lost in translation. With that said maybe a tattoo in a foreign country is not the best idea.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

Actually, Spain has long been at the forefront of legislation regarding hygienic standards for tattoo parlors, so compared with many other countries, odds are good that the place you pick will be clean. (Obviously, any law is only as good as the people who obey it, and just as largely unregulated countries like the US have many good, clean shops, there are a number of fairly disgusting places here.)

Frankly, you choice of a shop should be determined to a great degree by the style of tattoo you're after. Feel free to send me a PM and I'd be happy to orient you a bit.
