We will be in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Granada,...) between mid-October and early November. Does anyone have suggestions on how to find special events, concerts, cabarets, shows, or other 'arts' activities in Spanish cities. What about sports events (less expensive than Barca or Real Madrid) Thanks for sharing your ideas and experiences!

Try the "Time Out" website to get started. Madrid has tons of theaters, but nothing has yet been announced for "Festival de Otono." The Moscow Ballet is in town then, but I'm still waiting for more Festival info. In Barcelona, see whatever's playing at the "Palau de Musica." You get to enjoy what's a museum in the daytime while you watch a show.

My usual resource is the TI. I once found a free invite to a night club located in a converted palacio. I just searched "English publications for events in Madrid" and came up with in-madrid.com. For Barcelona, using the preceding technique, I came up with Barcelona Connect. You'll have try it for yourself for the Seville, Granada. If you are going to the Costa de Sol, e.g. Marbella, Malaga, Torremolinos, etc. Try surinenglish.com.. Currently there is a 26 day Biannual Festival of the Flamenco in Seville.
