What are the typical price ranges for these trips. How much time do you need (1 day, two days, more)? Thanks!
I can't speak for Ibiza. I did a daytrip from Tarifa to Morocco this March and paid 81 euros (per person) for the round trip boat ride and the guide. We had Aziz for a guide (he's recommended in Rick's book). We signed up for the walking tour that he said would be "more than 5 hours". It turned out to be closer to 10-11 hours and was wonderful. Of course, there was some extra expense for food and souveniers, etc., but those things are all are within your control.
If you take a boat ride over to Morocco, bear in mind that some routes now arrive at Tangier-Med - a new port which is great if you want to get onto the Autoroute down to Rabat, but it is MILES away from the city of Tangier.
The other thing to watch is the weather -- the "fast" ferries turn into "corks", bobbing about on the ocean when it's rough and take HOURS longer than normal. Take your sea-sick pills!!
Our day trip to Tangier from Tarifa in April was just over $90EURO each. This included a bus tour and was quite enjoyable. We spent most of the smooth 45 minute ferry ride standing in line to have our passports stamped. We were first timers and would do it different next time, probably go for a few nights and further down into Morocco. The carpet sales pitch was actually quite comical and we got away without buying a thing!
Thank you, to everyone!
