We are in Spain right now, and are already tired of mediocre tapas. We found a couple of fantastic restaurants in Seville and Madrid: Modagita in Seville - very creative food in a small little corner restaurant, and Casanis in Madrid, really outstanding French food near Puerto Del Sol. No heavy sauces, but wonderful flavors. Both restaurants were very reasonable price-wise. Any suggestions for Barcelona and Sitges? We do not like fixed price multi-course meals. Way too much food for us. Thanks in advance!
Sitges -- Not for food, but the best drinks in town....Casablanca, a block off the main beach...Small and very nice.
Try La Pulpera in Barcelona great seafood and very reasonable prices, also La Terraza de Claris, a bit more elegant, but great food.
There is also Tickets of course, this is a restaurant by the Adria brothers of El Bulli fame. Great, great food, if you can score a table.
Thanks for suggestions. We did go to Pla and Gilda, ranked at #9 and 10 respectively on Tripadvisor. Excellent food and very reasonable prices. Gilda in particular was a good deal. Main course dishes were approx 10-12 euros, and the food was wonderful!
