My wife and I are in the process of planning a road trip from Barcelona to Santiago de Compepstela in May of 2010. Any suggestions for a northern route and places to stay?

Our northern route started in Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, then Santillana del Mar, a stop in Bilbao for the Guggenheim Museum, and ended in San Sebastian.
Our favorite hotel was in Santiago de Compostela--
Hotel Residencia Costa Vella We loved the city too!
It sounds like you're planning a fun trip and it should be a nice time to visit.
