Spain New Year's Eve - Ronda? Itinerary Help?

My wife and I are planning a quick 8-night excursion to Spain to ring in 2009. Having looked through Rick's 2008 Spain book and talked with friends who have been to Spain, we've come up with this itinerary: any thoughts? Gracias!

Fly into Madrid
3 nights Madrid (with day trip to Toledo)
2 nights Sevilla
1 night Ronda (New Year's Eve)
2 nights Nerja on the ocean
Fly out of Malaga

We loved Nerja, but I gotta believe that it will be dead at that time of the year. Maybe you know something about Ronda that I don't, but unless it is a family thing, I would suggest spending NYE in either Madrid or Sevilla (or instead of Nerja and Ronda...go to Grenada and party there then fly out of Malaga).

I agree with Bill. Chances are Nerja will be cool and cloudy at that time of year....not really worth the diversion. And he's right, Ronda will only be a good New Year's stop if you want a quiet New Year's eve!

I was there in March and I agree with Bill and Norm. If I had to fly out of Malaga I would do 3 nights in Sevilla (New Years Eve there) and then 2 days in Granada (do the Alhambra and San Nicolas view etc.) and then look at the Med Sea on the way to the Malaga Airport. An alternative would be 2 nights in Sevilla, 2 nights (New Years Eve) in Grandada, and last night in Nerja. However, that is a 3,2,2,1 trip and that's a lot of checking in and out and etc. If I didn't have to fly out of Malaga I would go to Granada first for 3 nights (N.Y.E. there) and 2 nights in Sevilla to fly home from there. bob
