Will be in Spain (Madrid, Granada, Seville) late November/ early December. What will the weather be like and how heavy a coat will we need.

It really depends on where you are inside the country and the vagaries of the weather. My wife and I werw in Spain last december and it was in the 50's during the day in Madrid and 30's at night. When we got to granada it was in the low 40s for a high temp. In tarifa, there were kids swimming in the ocean (although we still had long pants and sleeves on). I got around with thermal underwear for at night (underneath my pants and shirt) and a polar fleece with gloves and hat for outerwear. My wife wore all this and a scarf and knit cap (as she is usually more cold than I). I hope this helps.
