I am planning a trip to Barcelona and would like to know other towns I should visit. I plan to stay three to four weeks. I would appreciate any suggestions. We like the beaches and thought mid June would be the best time.

Places I have enjoyed: Barcelona (returning there in the fall) Madrid (also returning on this fall trip_ Segovia , Toledo - Spend at least one night in Toledo) Sevillia, Salamanca, Zamora. Soria, Sitges, 3/4 hour from Barcelona has a nice beach. Also Malaga and the area there. Suggest you get a copy of The Moon Guide To Spain...very informative and accurate as well. You might want to see www.madridman.com for other suggestions, not just in Madrid mind you....and consider checking into the Vaughantown program...there you will be in contact with the real Spanish people and gain more insight, not just seeing buildings!!!

Shhhh, HJ! I thought Vaughantown was our secret!
I could have spent a lot more time in Salamanca - I loved it! I also was quite taken with Cordoba, its beautiful patios in the old town, and La Mezquita. I will be spending another couple of days in Barcelona in August, then a few more days in Madrid (this time I promise to get to the Prado). There is a lot to do in Madrid and the surrounding area - Toledo, El Escorial, etc.
