Hi. We will be travelling to Spain for 2 weeks at Christmas time with 3 kids, 14,15, and 20. Our kids like active sightseeing (i.e., not too many museums and churches) and playing sports. Where in Spain is the weather the best at that time of year? Are there any areas with special Christmas traditions? Our initial idea would be to go to Madrid and Andalucia.
Even the most southern parts of Spain are at just about the same latitude as San Francisco, so you can't expect the weather to be much different than you would have at home at that time of year. In Spain, the big holiday is actually Three Kings Day on Jan. 6. Christmas itself is more of a time for a big feast, but gifts are not exchanged at that time.
