I plan to go to these countries Sept 8 to 28. I want to fly into either Barcelona or Lisbon and fly out of the other city (open Jaws). Does anyone recommened starting in one city versus the other, weather-wise or anything else. I do plan at least the one day ferry trip to Tangiers from Tarifa. One place I am not going to is the Madrid area as I have been there before.

There's no real reason to choose one city over the other for arrival-departure at that time of year. Pick the cheapest!

The only benefit/rational I would offer is fly into Barc and out of Lisbon. The only reason being, your flight out of Lisbon will be a little bit shorter - and, at the end of your vacation - you might be anxious to get home.
