I'm planing a trip to Spain in Sep.So far I have 1 week reservation in Madrid and 1 week at some 12 miles south of Malaga. My plan is to travel by train from Madrid to Malaga and and rent a car. From there take daily trips to Seville Granada and some other location. From Granada I plan to go to the Badajoz province and from there drive to Madrid .I' m not shure if I'm trying to cover too much territory in 19 days. Does anyone have any ideas that can help me.Thank you very much
Raul, I'm not entirely sure of you question but I do have two suggestions; you can find distances and travel times at viamichelin.com. Also, you might consider including Toledo - the historical part is quite fascinating. I hope this is helpful.
I'm still not clear here. Will you have the car from Malaga until you arrive back in Madrid? Do you mean you will have 5 days at the end of your Malaga stay to get to Badajoz and back to Madrid. And is there any reason you're leaving from Granada to go to Badajoz (I thought GRanada was to be a day trip?)
Right off the top, I would agree with Frank that a day trip to Sevilla from Malaga is not a good idea...3 hours drving each way. You could cut a night from Malaga and stay overnight in Sevilla, since it's on your way to Badajoz anyway.
You need to spend some time with a map. Twelve miles south of Malaga puts you in the ocean by about eleven miles. Granada is doable as a day trip from Malaga since it about two hours or so by car. Seville is way to far for a day trip. What you are planning seems reasonable.
Go online to a site called: www,madridman.com and you'll find out lots of great up-to-date info. The man who owns/runs this site is an American living in Madrid who will actually respond to a personal e-mail if you send it. He has another site too, a new one, called www.barcelonaman.com.
