Southwest Germany after Oktoberfest

We are going to Oktoberfest for a weekend and then eventually flying back from Franfurt. We would like to find some interesting things to do in southwest Germany (Black Forest, Stuttgart) while making our way to Frankfurt. Any suggestions?

Visit the Burg Hohenzollern in Hechingen. It's not much older than Neuschwanstein, but impressive.

Tübingen: a pretty university town on the Neckar south of Stuttgart. Kepler taught there.

Freudenstadt, accessible from Stuttgart by train, has a huge town square and is called the capital of the northern Black Forest.

From Freudenstadt, go down the Nagold river to Pforzheim, stopping in Calw, hometown of Herman (Steppenwolf) Hesse.

We dipped down into Switzerland on swing from Oktoberfest back to Frankfurt. I don't know if you considered this or not? How long of a time are we talking?

We finished up at Oktoberfest, then trained to Lucern, then to Gimmewald, then to Baden-Baden before ending in Frankfurt.

Really really great trip!
