Southern Spain-late Sept.-must do's

We are headed to S. Spain and are following RS guidelines and routing. Any other don't miss sights that RS has not included in his books? we will have a car for Cordova, white hill towns of andulucia, beach region then ending in Granada.
thx in advance.

It's hard to give good suggestions when you give us no idea of what you actually intend to see or do in each town. I don't know if it is mentioned in the book, but one of the best things I did in Cordoba a couple of weeks ago was take a tour of the patios, for which they are famous. One thing you should be prepared for is for it to be beastly hot. It was 100 degrees on one day, and 102 on the next (in late May).

There is no indication of your interests - my 'don't miss sights' will surely not be yours. Neither is there an indication of whether you have time for more after spending whatever time at Cordova, (the scores of) white hill towns, the (hundreds of kilometres of) beach region and Granada. I am quite sure there are many, like me, who have read very little of RS guidelines. I have certainly not for Spain and do not intend to, if the oddly paced itineraries for elsewhere in Europe are anything to go by.

Consider visiting Nerja, a great place about 45 minutes up the coast from Malaga. The weather in September is still warm, but generally with pleasantly cool nights. See the Caves of Nerja, visit Frigliana, eat and drink well, and if you like to hike, the mountains in the National Park behind Nerja are fantastic. Enjoy!
