Southern Spain

WE are traveling around the cth of spain starting in Granada and heading first down to Nerja.
Are there any places along the way that someone finds a great stop?
In Nerja, are there any things to see or restaurants that someone recommends?
Thanks!

It's not "along the way," but just north of Nerja is the village of Frigiliana, a place a Spanish friend of mine called "the prettiest village in Spain." He may have overdone it, but it is a lovely place to visit.
Any of the little seaside villages between Almunecar and Nerja would be worth a stop. You'll have to get off the main A-7 highway to get to them...in fact, if you have the time, I'd take the N-340 instead of the A-7 to get a better look at that stretch of coastline.

The Nerja caves are beautiful, Nerja itself is worth a stroll, nice views from the Balcon de Europa. We ate Indian one night, Italian another, both excellent but that was a few years ago and I don't remember where they were, just that they were a couple of blocks east from the Balcon piazza. Lots of British food as Nerja is very popular with the Brits.
