Southern Germany in early November

I'll be meeting my wife in Stuttgart in early November (I will have been on deployment for over a year) for a four day getaway and am looking for a great relaxing vacation within a 2 hour drive of Stuttgart. I've been to Heidelberg and liked the charm, any other suggestions?

Herrenberg, Tübingen, or Freudenstadt. All are accessible in less than 2 hours by rail from Stuttgart. Go by train for a more relaxing vacation.

Baden-Baden is about an hour away- very peaceful and relaxing. In fact after a visit to the Friedrichsbad (the historic spa) I was about as relaxed as I've ever been in my life. If you have a dress uniform with you you could hit the palatial casino there- much classier than any casino in the States. Though I haven't been, I hear Lake Constance (the Bodensee) is very nice. You could bike around the lake, cross over to Switzerland... if you don't have access to a guidebook I'm sure there's tons of info available online.

If you're looking for something cheap for US service members, do you know about the Edelweiss Resort in Garmisch-Partenkirchen?
