Festivals

Usually the city website/tourist office site has a list of upcoming events. The address for almost every French city: www.ville-cityname.fr. Ex. Carcasonne = www.ville-carcasonne.fr. Paris is an exception = www.paris.fr

Carcasonne is having a Christmas festival.

Arles has "Droles de Noels" - 100 free Christmas performances from the 21st to the 30th. Check out the full list of events in Arles at the Office of Tourism site. Under "Important Events," click "All" and enter your dates.

Lyon also has an online calendar but it is in French. No major Lyonnais festivals will take place while you are there.

However, Lyon will have numerous art exhibitions while you are there. Cf the museum page.

There's ALWAYS something happening in Paris, the cultural capital of the world.
2007 Events

2008 Events (Un?)fortunately, you'll be missing the first beauty contest for pedigree dogs in Ile-de-France.
