Is this a round trip or is it a one-way trip to Nice Ville.

Unless a miracle has happened the TGV stops in Marsailles. Then you do the slower train to Nice.

what miracle? TGVs go straight through from Paris Gare de Lyon to Nice with one or two through to Monaco. Virtually all TGVs from Paris stop at Avignon. Not all stop in Marseilles, some stop in Aix en Provence instead. The track maybe slow as the train approaches the coast - it most certainly is - but the train is the same. Yes there are local regionals but there is no reason not to do it by TGV, unless something radical has happened very recently that I am not aware of.
