We want to spend 5 days in the South of France this summer. We definately want to visit wineries but need suggestions on any "must see" places and/or wineries you'd recommend. Thanks!
Vaison La Romaine...fantstic area... stay in the Citie Medieval in one of the hotels/beds and breakfast there... Local village market on Tuesday(?)..you will find it in their web sites. Caux - small, very small, village in the south near Penzas...might not be on some maps. Near the sea coast and Montepellier...fantastic B&B The StoneHouse Inn. Any of the countryside in the south is enjoyable.
Carol, the south of France is a big area. The three most popular regions are probably: Dordogne, Provence, Riviera. I would do some research on your own to see which appeals to you the most, then post here with questions about specific towns, accomodations, sites to see, etc and you'll get lots of opinions from people who have been there.
You should consider the Luberon which is quintessential Provence. I suggest Michelin Green Guide to Provence to help you decide where to spend your limited time.
