south of France and where else to visit

We are going to the South of France for seven days in July and thinking of staying in VilleFranche-sur-Mer. Flying in and out of Nice. We were wondering where else would be good to see on this visit. Places we have considered are Northeast to Genoa Italy, Lake Como or closer to San Remo or West to Marseille or up into Switzerland. We know we cannot devote alot of time to travel but would like to see a few things while we are there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
