sommerrodelbahn luge in Tegelberg

Is it possible to ride the Luge at Tegelberg without taking the cable car/gondola? We like to hike but may not have several hours to do so.

Hi Sheila,

Yes, you can ride the Sommerrodelbahn (luge) without taking the cable car trip. They are separate.

Hi again Sheila,

Here's the price list for the luge ride (Sommerrodelbahn) at Tegelberg:

Children 3-15 years old - 2,10 €/ride
6-Ride ticket 9,50 = 1,58 €/ride

Adults- 2,60 €/ride
6-Ride ticket 10,50 € = 1,75 €/ride

I'd get the 6 ride ticket. It's a a lot of fun and once isn't enough!

We were at Tegelberg two years ago. This luge ride is different in that each luge car, holding one rider, is towed to the top of the track and then set free to glide back down to the bottom. There are others in Austria that you actually ride a chair lift, with your glider on the side, to the top. You then get on the glider and ride down the mountain.

I would say that it is not possible to ride this luge without being towed up the mountain. Have fun!

True, but it has nothing to do with the cable car.
