My son will be spending his junior year, fall semester in Madrid. I have some questions: where can he purchase soccer tickets and do they have student discounts?; what sort of rail pass should we get in order to allow him to travel to near by countries while he's there. Our family will join him for Christmas and then come back to the US together. does anyone have a suggestion for purchasing lower airfare tickets? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You can easily purchase tickets for Real Madrid matches via the teams website. Go to www.realmadrid.com select english, then go to the "members" section. Airfare should be quite cheap in December, as it's is off-season for US travelers.
