So long and thanks for all the advice

Sorry to see To The West go.

It will be harder now for people planning multi-country trips to ask their questions in a single place and get the most attention for it.

But change happens! and I am sure there will be some improvements too.

Last person here, please turn out the lights.

So much for being patient and waiting to see how it shakes out, huh, Adam?

Nancy, what do you mean by that? It's not a very nice thing to say.

Only that the webmaster asked that everyone remain patient and wait to see what they roll out to accommodate that type of itinerary.

James, those two were lost years ago due to the non-ending debate over "central" vs. "east", they couldn't be put in either one :-)

Nancy,

type of itinerary.
----------------(and it looks like the have broken the quote facility, what a surprise)

Any way I look at it this offering falls well short of what is possible. First of all there are many fine forum software applications out there that would provide more functionality that this, I can only assume home grown thingy, ('cause as a software professional I'd be shocked if they are paying for it) ability to track threads, identify all new posts, receive notifications when there are new posts in certain areas or topics and so on.

Then there are all these different sections with a few messages in each, I have no intention of going into each to see there is a new message or not. I'll pop by every now and then to see if there are any new posts in Swiss forum, but that is about it. And I expect new users may well be put off the impression that there is very little going on, when the only see a few post in their chosen forum and some of them are old!

The webmaster does not need to listen, what they need to do is adapt the best practices used else where!
