We are staying at the Hotel Muguet in September, and I know that they have a strict rule against eating in the room. I've read mixed comments about whether you can sit down with a glass of wine or a snack in the breakfast room, outside of breakfast hours, of course. For those who have stayed there, do you happen to know? Thanks.
I've stayed there a few yrs ago when they were in process of redoing their breakfast room. Sorry that I can't answer your question but I wanted to mention that there are a number of cafes within a few blocks of the hotel. If you really do want to eat in the hotel, I suggest you email them & ask. I recall that they were very nice.
Although I've stayed there twice I can't answer the question either. Never ate on the premises. Just wanted to say you chosen a wonderful place to stay. Location is fabulous. Rooms have been redone with attractive furnishings and amenities. Agree with the previous poster. Email them.
Kristi, I stayed in a different hotel in Paris with the same rule. I checked with a European friend before leaving here and he said that this was mostly directed at European tourists who were apt to show up with little electric hotplates, etc. to fix entire meals in the room. I always kept grapes, apples, strawberries, tomatoes, cookies etc. on a plate and nobody ever objected. I can't imagine that discreetly bringing in a bottle of wine and a wedge of cheese to enjoy in your room would present a problem. - Hope you have a fabulous time - B.
Thanks to everyone. I imagine that, as in most things, it depends on how you use the room. A full-blown party that trashes the place would be entirely different than the three of us enjoying a glass of wine and a little something as we recapped the day and planned the next. That likely accounts for the different reports from people who said you were or were not allowed to use the room.
