Has anyone found a reasonable way to rent a smartphone while traveling in Spain? Have been searching the web unsucessfuly.

Bob, Renting a phone and especially a Smartphone in Spain is likely going to be very expensive and difficult to do! There's also the problem of having to return it to the rental agency at the starting location of your trip. One option you could consider would be to rent an iPhone (choice of several models) from iPhone Trip. This is somewhat of an expensive option, but I believe they have good data plans. I'm not sure on their rates for voice or text, but you can check the website or give them a call. Happy travels!
