Our family is planning a trip to Europe this summer and we seem to be doing great with finding inexpensive options for sleep except for Zurich. Any one with info on a less expensive but decent place in Zurich would be helpful.
Sarah,
We, too, are planning a family trip this summer. I booked the Hotel Bristol quad room at 240euros. Not cheap, but the best I could find. It gets a good write-up in RS Switzerland book. Did you find any good deals in Lucerne?
Lisa oh - the website is www.hotelbristol.ch!
Ck www.accorhotels.com, they have a range of hotels from Sofitel to Formule one (5 star to one star type)there are 10 to check for in Zurich.
I like Etap and Ibis brands of accor for affordablity. As an option consider staying in Lindau, Germany on beautiful Lake Constance a short train ride from Zurich airport.
Accor hotels own Motel 6 here in the states. Good idea. I do like the other idea of staying in Germany. I'll check on the train ride. We were only going to stay in Zurich to catch the flight home. Not staying in Lucerne Lisa, sorry, no advice with places to stay there. Thanks for the responses.
Try St. Josef in Zurich. I have stayed there twice on Girl Scout trips.
I found a room through the tourist info office. I would suggest though staying in the old town. They have quaint shops and neat resturants. I stayed near the train station and it was just dept stores. The trolly ride (greyline) was very nice.
