We'll be traveling by train from Madrid. What's the most convenient area of Toledo to stay?

Plaza de Zocodover?
Near Bisagra Gate? or
Deep in Toledo?

I suggest near the Cathederal....Hostal Posada de Manolo...I have stayed there on two trips within the past year. It is convenient, clean, and well run. There is a very good breakfast included in the room as well. When you arrive at the train station in Toledo, take a taxi -- a wild ride for sure, but the only way to get there!...and if you loose your way in the twisting streets, you can find the cathederal with no difficulty!

Not by the gate- we did that a few years ago and it was very noisy late at night- people leaving that work there or in the bars - talking and laughing. I agree with the previous poster.

Good advice from HJ - and another recommendation for Hostal Posada de Manolo - we loved staying there. Oozing with charm and great service, great location deep in the old city. Magical.
