I really loved my trip to Switzerland but I have a question. We visited in the summer. Every hotel that we stayed at had a heavy down conforter on the bed without any other sheet or blanket. This would be great in the winter but it was too hot in the summer. We ended up pulling the down part out of the cover. Is this what everyone does? What do the Swiss people do?

We did the Germany/Austria/Switzerland trip in July 2006 and it was HOT! We did exactly what you did-- pulled the duvet out of the cover and just slept under the cover. The two nights in the Alps were the only nights cool enough for the duvet to be welcome. I'll be interested to hear what others have done.
