I am thinking of trying to stay in the barns of local farmers while in Switzerland (and am open to other countries as well). Has anyone participated in the Sleep in Straw program or stayed with families before? Any advice?

If you're asking specifically what it's like to sleep in a straw loft... I've done it, but not in Switzerland. It was quite comfortable, but the odor takes some getting used to. Not an unpleasent smell at all, but very pronounced. If not provided, you will probably need a blanket, or at least a sheet.
