Sleeping in Paris with Family of 5

I thought the most economical way to stay in Paris with a family of 5,would be to rent an apartment, but I have discovered that they are very expensive also. Our kids are 17, 13, 10. Our budget is E200 max. We would also like to stay in the 7th district, which is very central for our 3 nights there.
Any suggestions?

While there are a few apartments in Paris that will rent for less than a week, I would say that 80%+ operate on a week-minimum. Many of those that are willing to go less will charge a premium. After much searching, we found one for our upcoming trip for only three nights, but since we have not been there yet, I can't vouch for it. We stayed in another apartment for a week in Paris in 2009. We are a family of five as well. The 2009 apartment was about 900euro for the week. Our apartment for July this year is 335 euro for three nights. Be aware that they will almost always include the living room convertible couch as a bedroom, and that the apartment will be small by US standards - but bigger than two hotel rooms.

Check homeaway.com. Places there will sometimes have 3 day minimums. I must add that I have never used them, but am planning to for another trip (not to Paris).

Trina, if you can bring yourselves to consider hotels in some of the "outer" arrondissements, you'll find plenty of accommodation within your budget. The 15th, 12th and 11th are all well served by bus and metro and you will be whisked to the sites you want to see in short order.
