Sleeping in Nurnberg

We are arriving 2 days early for a Viking River Cruise starting in Nurnberg. Any suggestions for sleeping and eating before we get on the ship would be appreciated. We are two older travelers but experienced. Thanks

Barbara, We stayed at the Hotel Elch during the Christmas Markets a few years ago. It was an easy walk from the train station and is also home to one of the oldest Schnietzel Houses in Nurnberg. Jeff & Dianne

Just got back from Germany. Stayed at Hotel Victoria while in Nuremberg. Room was super clean, quiet, comfortable, and reasonably priced, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (included in room rate) was very good. The restaurant located next door served some excellent 'Nurembergers' (small bratwursts), sauerbraten, steak, and gulaschsuppe. Location is excellent - just inside the Frauentor across from the main train station, on Konigstrasse; thus, convenient connections to local transporation for visiting the Palace of Justice (via U-bahn) and Nazi Rally Grounds (via Tram). Would definitely stay there again.
