sleeping in Munich

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any great recommendations for sleeping in Munich (August 3 and 4). I have Rick's book, and have looked online, but am having trouble finding a nice under 100 Euros...

Any thoughts or recommendations??

Thanks!
:)

Hi, Juliane - I spent several nights at Hotel Antares last year and paid an average price of 57.75 Euro (54 during the week and 69 on the weekend.) It was clean, on a quiet street, had elevator, your own bathroom and included a breakfast buffet. I walked to Marienplatz, it was 2 1/2 short blocks to the Pinakothek (spelling?) museums (the old and the new are across the street from each other.) I was very pleased with it. This price was for a single, nonsmoking room; some German friends found it for me. The night before my return flight, the front desk ordered a cab for me for 6 am next morning, which came promptly and took me to the Hauptbahnhof right to the airport bus. I didn't want to hassle with the train. The cab was around 5 Euro and the bus around 8. I don't know if they speak English. The address is Amalienstrasse 20, 90333 Muenchen, Deutschland; Tel. from US is 011-49-89-280 0200 and FAX is (011) 49 89 280 0222. I don't know if they have air but the window opened.

P.S. re Hotel Antares - I felt very safe there. Couldn't beliefe the great deal. The visit was last June. They also serve dinner in the small restaurant downstairs where the breakfast buffet is.
