Can anyone point me to a train that would take me from Barcelona to Lisbon at night? I'd like to buy tickets in advance, online. I've tried searching the web, but no luck.

According to the timetables at www.bahn.de, you can leave Barcelona Sants at 16:30, arriving at Madrid-Atocha at 20:55. Make your way to Madrid-Chamartin and leave there on the trenhotel at 22:45, arriving at Lisboa Oriente at 08:06. Note: apparently the trenhotel doesn't run every day so check the timetables carefully. You should be able to book these trains at www.renfe.es.

Have you considered flying to Lisbon from Barcelona? Vueling has both an early morning (about 6:30) and evening (about 6:40) flight. Many times it can be less expensive to fly and pay for an extra night in a hotel. The flight is only 50 minutes.

I'm flying on Vueling the other way (Lisbon to Barcelona) in August - it's not a 50 minute flight though, it's 1h50 (looking at a schedule from Barca to Lisbon it will look 50 min because you are changing time zones from CET to GMT so you gain an hour!). Still, preferable (at least for me) over a night train.
