I will be traveling between Geneva and Paris in February. I was looking for a place to ski for 2-3 days, then get to Paris. Anyone know of anyplace in the French Alps or Switzerland that would be close. Not looking for a huge resort, rather a "local" mountain that would be fun, but any advice would be great. Also, anyone have any idea the best way to get between Geneva and paris, is there a cheap flight, or would train be better?

The closest to Geneva is the Portes du Soleil. It's a typical French resort (very similar to the big American ones), not like the cool and charming Austrian ones. But actually it's great fun to ski there (even though there is no real Apres Ski in France). Look for Avoriaz or Morzine. It's about 1 hrs drive from Geneva.
