After sending email to reconfirm a room I booked in October, I found out that she hadn't received my email with the credit card info. One of my four nights is not available. So for three nights I'll be in the city museum, jewish synagogue and asam-kirche area. Anyone know of a hotel (or whatever) in that area. She suggested a hotel in the viktualien marakt area but they were booked. Hoping to hear back from her with another suggestion, but I thought I'd try here too.
Bev, you know which City you are traveling to, but you failed to name it in your message.
Munich?
Obviously a bit hysterical at this point! Munich
Try looking at Google Maps (and Streetview) - zoom in near your desired area until hotels start showing up, then start researching and pick one...remember, it's only one night, so you don't 'need' wifi, 'free' breakfast, etc. Something similar happened to us in Paris; we found out at our departure airport...grrrrr... Good luck, and have a fantastic trip!
Ohmygosh, Eileen, when I read your reply it sounded just like what my son would have said (and I should have thought of that!) Thanks everyone! The lady where I'm staying for three days talked to a friend who also runs a pension, it's close, and that's where I go on my last day in Germany before catching the plane to Russia.
Hi Bev, It sounds like you already have a place, but Pension Lindner is in that area and comes highly recommended (actually that may already be one of the pensions you're staying at). Have a great trip!
Marion at Pension Linder has been very helpful after we discovered that the hold for the room via my credit card had somehow gone astray. Thank goodness I did a reconfirm a week before arrival. My obsessiveness came in handy this time! I stayed with her about 14 years ago with my son and am now taking my husband to Germany. Thanks for the reply, Dawn.
