I have a chance to spend up to 6 days in Berlin. (squeezed between two business trips.) I don't think I want to spend that much time in one place---not my style of travel--so can anyone suggest towns or places I could go for daytrips or a two day trip?

Potsdam or Dresden come to mind first. Though Berlin is a big enough city with enough things to see or do that I doubt if you will get bored. The city is surrounded by other small towns too, or you might want to consider visiting the Spree Wald, or going on up to Hamburg. A trip to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp with its sister camp Ravensbruck will take a good portion of a day and really, these camps should be visited.

I'll second the vote for Potsdam or Dresden. Depending on what you like to do, you can go just past Dresden down the Elbe to Saxon Switzerland National Park, lots of little villages there. There's tons of hiking, biking, things like that.
