is it appreciably cheaper to purchase sim card @ CDG or better (in terms of convenience as well as price) to buy in US before-hand ? I will have a gms/quad/unlocked cell with me...
I don't know if you'll be able to get a SIM card for France from the US. I also don't know the facilities at CDG, but I have purchased cheap ones in England (Orange store 15 pounds pay as you go) and Germany (Vodafone 15 euro pay as you go). If you plan on making lots of calls in France this is the way to go. If you need to make international calls, you might be better off getting a phone card.
I agree with Katy, not sure if you can find a French SIM in the USA. I have two SIMs (one US, one Italian) and I swap back and forth depending on the call, and keep the other tucked behind the phone's back plate next to the battery. For me it's much less expensive to make calls within Italy and Europe with my Italy SIM. I prepay by the minute and can recharge many places.

There are many sites on the internet that sell sims for different countries but the common consensus seems to be they are much cheaper to purchase in the destination country itself...I was only wondering if they could be found at CDG airport at all and if so would they be more expensive ( as most things are @ airports) as I have a substantial layover there with some time to kill and so I thought I could take care of that while there...
