My husband and I are traveling to Spain next June, 2012. We will be staying in Sierra Nevada for a week in a resort. It is recommended we rent a car. Can you give us advice about traveling and parking in Granada, Seville, and Ronda?
Best advice is Don't. A vehicle in the country side is fine but within towns it is a pain for getting around and for parking. Granada and Seville are easily accessible via public transit. Public parking is extremely limited in the core areas of Granada and Seville. Park on the edge and take the train or bus in.
I would tend to agree - don't. Alternatively, ensure you have a good GPS which can lead you to parking stations, on the edge of the city. To drive in the centre of any of them can be a nightmare - we live in Spain and do drive to Seville and Granada but we have learnt the hard way and now know where to park. You could also google parking stations in the relevant places. From the Sierra Nevadas Ronda and Seville are quite some distance - you will spend some time travelling there and back, regardless of the mode of transport.
