Side Trip to Mont Saint-Michel

My wife and I will be in Paris on the final days of our vacation. We'd like to visit Mont Saint-Michel and spend our last night there and head to the Paris airport from there. It's in August. Is our best approach to rent a car in Paris (at the hotel, say where well have stayed), drive to MSM, stay the night and then take the car directly to the airport the next morning/afternoon?

Or is transportation of some kind to MSM and then some sort of Airport shuttle we can take from MSM to the airport.

Note: We're in great shape for 60 years old.

Advice?

Given you'll only have the day to get to MSM, I'd go with renting in Paris. Get driving directions out on Viamichelin. Alternatively, you could take the RER out to CDG and pick up there (with an extra charge for airport pickup).

Hi Norman,
My fellow Floridian, (we used to live in Coral Springs!). The RER is one of the train systems in Paris. CDG is short for Charles Degault airport. Incidentally we will be in Paris around the same time as you. Have a wonderful trip!
