Short trips from Berlin to Venice or Rome

I'll be in Berlin for 7 days and have been there several times already. My friends and I are thinking of spending a few days (2-4) going to Venice or Rome.

should we go by train or plane? do you recommend venice or rome given the distance and time frame?

Fly.Pick just one of those cities.You don't have enough time to go by train.
