I am visiting Austria for 5 weeks and need dress up clothes...I am then backpacking for 3 weeks and would like to ship my bag home to the US or to Florence or Rome so I can pick it up before flying home out of Rome. The bag is a duffel about 40 lbs, about 28 x 12 x 12.
Any thoughts on either shipping to Italy or shipping it home? Obviously I would like the cheapest option.

I also have this question, as we overpacked, not realizing that train stations in Europe have more steep stairs and less lifts than anywhere else on earth. We want to ship home one roll aboard suitcase filled with 30 pounds of heavy clothes from Verona to California...or to London to pick up before we fly home. Any ideas? Laura
Shipping is generally expensive. However, it is easy to determine a base for comparison. Go to any of the shipping services web sites -- UPS, FedEx, etc. All have an estimating page -- enter weight and size and you get a price. The local postal systems maybe cheaper but less dependable.
